In this live, one-day classroom course, we will address how to clearly describe green assets and their benefits to consumers and in appraisals. You will learn about:

  • Green building, sustainability and energy efficiency best practices
  • Building science basics: moisture and thermal control, structural and mechanical systems, performance diagnostics, utility bill analysis and renewable energy systems
  • Green ratings, zero net energy and passive house construction
  • Financing, incentives and valuation of green elements

A residential sustainability consultant focusing on energy solutions, Debra has been a CA residential appraiser since 2000 and built her own high-performance home in 2007. Previously, she worked in NYC as a business analyst and producer of corporate and news video. Debra has published numerous articles, conducted seminars on the topic of valuation of green assets in homes, and is active with national working groups advocating for sustainable building. She holds designations as a BPI Certified Building Analyst and as a Green Point Rater with Build It Green.
